A total of 800,000 Ukrainian citizens aged 18 to 24 are eligible to join the army under a special contract with specific conditions. However, this does not mean that all vacant positions in the Armed Forces are intended to be filled by young people.
This was stated by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Office Pavlo Palisa, Censor.NET reports citing RBC-Ukraine.
"In general, the target audience of 18 to 24 is almost 800 thousand people," he said, adding that this number is "more than enough."
Palisa noted that in general, Ukraine is working to increase the target audience for contracting.
"First of all, the next one will be a contract for those citizens who discharged, who had the opportunity, the legal right to discharge before the law on mobilization was adopted, who have the right to deferment, who are even exempted. First and foremost, we want to create a competitive employer in the Ukrainian labor market in the form of the Armed Forces," he explained.
Accordingly, Ukrainians in this category will be offered a wider range of military specialties: drone crews, mechanics, drivers, and combat vehicle crews.
