In the first three months of 2024, the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine authorised more than 80 samples of domestically produced weapons and military equipment for use in the army. According to Censor.NET, this was reported by Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Lieutenant General Ivan Havryliuk in his column on Interfax-Ukraine.
As noted, the largest group in this list of weapons and equipment approved for use in the Armed Forces between January and March this year is ammunition. Ammunition of various types and calibres.
The second group in terms of the number of weapons and equipment samples approved for use in the first three months of 2024 is UAVs. In addition to the UAVs for aerial reconnaissance that have been upgraded, this line includes completely new drones of various types: both FPV kamikazes and reusable strike UAVs designed for different ranges.
The third group includes ground-based robotic systems and electronic warfare equipment.
"Ukrainian-made robotic platforms can perform a wide range of tasks. They are means of fire support (they can carry combat modules - machine guns and ATGMs, hitting enemy targets), transport for evacuating the wounded from the battlefield, or perform logistics tasks, delivering cargo to the front line," Havryliuk said.
He noted that among the domestically produced electronic warfare equipment recently put into operation are tactical-level systems designed to create a local "dome" to cover the combat positions of our troops or military equipment.
The list of domestically produced weapons and equipment approved for operation also includes armoured and special vehicles, a 120-mm mortar, communications equipment and vehicles.
"Domestic defence companies are currently offering a lot of new products. I can't talk in detail about their features, but I would like to emphasise that some of them have unique combat characteristics. I hope the aggressor will soon experience this," Havryliuk added.
