This is stated on the official website of the British government.
"The five countries will use the respective resources and capabilities of each country's civilian nuclear energy sectors to undermine Russia's control over supply chains," the statement said.
It is noted that the agreement should become the basis for "completely pushing Putin out of the nuclear fuel market" and "cutting off another means of financing his barbaric attack on Ukraine." The G7 clarified that they plan to develop common supply chains of uranium fuel, isolating the Russian Federation. At the same time, the British government emphasizes that the corresponding agreement is designed to support a stable supply of fuel for the needs of the present, as well as to ensure the safe and reliable development and implementation of fuel for modern reactors of the future.
"The agreement will strengthen our nuclear energy sectors, which is key to improving domestic energy security and lowering electricity bills for British families.. Nuclear fuel is essential for the operation of nuclear power plants, which provide about 15% of the UK's electricity supply.
