Russian army will not capture Chasiv Yar by May 9 - Defense Forces

Russian occupying forces will fail to capture Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region before the sacred date of May 9. The aggressors have already thrown all their resources into this direction, according to Oleh Kalashnikov, an officer of the press service of the 26th artillery brigade named after Roman Dashkevich. Informs RBC-Ukraine.

"They can't reach any higher. They have already fully engaged all resources in our direction, throwing everything they can to find our weakness and break through our defense," he said.

The spokesperson expressed confidence that the Russians will not be able to capture the town of Chasiv Yar before their sacred date of May 9.

"They won't be able to do more, they won't succeed before their next sacred date, and they will have to come up with a new date and postpone deadlines again to keep their electorate hopeful," said a representative of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Battles in Eastern Ukraine

Russian occupiers have intensified their offensive in eastern Ukraine in recent months. After capturing Avdiivka, the Russian army continues to press the defense of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

Moreover, the Russians have become more active in the BaKhmut direction. Occupiers are concentrated near Chasiv Yar. Ukrainian military officials note that if successful, the Russians will open up a path to the Kramatorsk agglomeration.

Earlier, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced that the Russians were ordered to capture Chasiv Yar by May 9.
