SBU detained a Russian agent who collected information about the military forces

The Security Service of Ukraine has detained a Russian agent of the Federal Security Service who was trying to infiltrate a local government in the Cherkasy region. Informs Freedom Matrix.

According to the SBU, the attacker was hired by the Russian side to collect information about the location and movement of military forces in the region.

To do this, the woman traveled to the area and studied the environment around the Ukrainian military units.. She transmitted the received data to her contacts through a private chat in the messenger, providing them with the coordinates and a detailed description of the objects..

The attacker also spread fakes about the war in Ukraine and justified the actions of the invaders in the banned social network VKontakte.

Later, the Russian agent received another hostile task - to infiltrate the local government to collect information about the technical condition and functioning of critical infrastructure in the region..

However, thanks to the timely actions of the SBU officers, the attacker was detained and charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: for high treason committed under martial law, and for justifying, recognizing as lawful, denying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine, glorification of its participants.
